DZ Doodles Freebie Image, Transparencies, Handmade Flowers, Paper Weaving and Fingerpainting, Upcycle Lampshade, Concrete/Plaster of Paris Tealights,

Hi Doodles Followers!

Moms, Dads, and Grads! Unlike the winter holiday season, May and June can catch even the most thoughtful gift giver off guard. Suddenly, there's a flurry of people to shop for -- all the moms, dads, and graduates in your life. Here's a follow-up of more fun projects for those upcoming events happening in your life ... the items on this post also have all the markings for a perfect gift: personal, useful, and tough to outdo next year!

TUTORIAL: Make your Own Transparencies, Lowri Mc Nabb from Papervine shows you how-to create custom patterned transparencies for use in your paper crafting. Using ANY graphics printer, acetate sheets, and your home printer.

Mei Flowers -- Ribbons, brads, accessories, diamond buckles, embellishments, gems and pearls, jewelry findings, sequins, strings and wires all in one shop! And card making videos to browse through and view!

Fold-It - Fold and Stack Flowers -  Fold-It Bows (love this one) - Mini Envelopes #1 and Mini Envelopes #2 Templates (#4060197) Paper Wishes Scoop Saver $12.39 THE SET!

Embellished Lampshade -- Up cycle a lampshade with scraps and embroidery, stamps and paper pieces, punch-out designs, acrylic paints, and the list goes on to create a collage. Pascale up cycled a plain lampshade into a work-of-art and shows the how-to to inspire you to make one of your own liking at Palette ET Ribombelle (The things I love and make).

All That Scraps offers a free printable spring banner and directions for adding some sweet spring stamped images for a pretty decoration anywhere! This would be a great welcome home baby banner too!

How to Make Concrete Tea Light Holders - These little holders look easy and fun to make, however, if you're not a "concrete" person (like I am) I was thinking of using DAP Bondex Plaster of Paris Hobby and Craft Dry Mix (4.4 lbs./2 kg) instead. Plaster of Paris sets in 20-30 minutes and can be painted with any oil or latex, acrylic-based paint. Mixing instructions are easy, 2-parts Plaster of Paris to 1-part cold water, stir to smooth consistency and pour. It's even got "repairable" instructions. Timber Press has a handy photo guide for you to follow using the concrete way, or inspiration for the Plaster of Paris way!

Hobby Lobby - This Modeling Plaster of Paris is safe and non-toxic and it can be put in the microwave for quicker drying. When mixed with water, this material hardens and becomes very hot - sometimes quickly.

April shower's outside brings May flowers ... even crafty ones inside! Using fabric, nylon, contact paper, tissue paper and more to create these flowering beauties should inspire you to design some of your own out-of-the-box creations too!

Two Peas in a Bucket's, Amber R., created this gorgeous scrapbook page collage layout that she calls, 6 Words. It's inspiration enough for a fun out-of-the-box design you'll enjoy re-creating! Amber also has other inspirational page designs to view as well.

Remember making woven paper when you were a kid? Some of you may remember and some may have never tried it, but, it's a classic project - simple, inexpensive, and fun. Paper weaving is a low-mess activity that you can experiment with weaving ribbons, yarn, strips cut from magazines, or fabric pieces, finger painted strips or stamped strips, and the list goes on and on! You'll find a simple up-to-date tutorial at Make and Takes to help inspire you!

Finger painted Backgrounds - Take a trip to kindergarten and get messy with a little finger painting. This is a simple and fast way to get color onto paper. Paint two or three colors across the page with your fingers. Print your DZ Doodles Digital image(s) over the dried painting by running it through your printer. Use the whole sheet for a scrapbook page to add stamps designs and embellishments to, or cut and paste sections to either scrap pages or card making projects!

Make It and Love It - Whether dad worked in a office job or not (blue collar wrapped around the rim would be just as cute) these Dad's Day pot 'o candy containers are a great gift idea ... and what dad doesn't have a sweet tooth?!

Exploding Insert Card - Pixie Cottage has a photo tutorial that comes from their very talented Sharon of Cards N Greetings that will guide you through recreating this exploding card project for any of your card giving special occasions -- I just had to print this one out to keep it in my files!! All you need to print are pages 2-9 which takes 4 papers of front and back printing. Thank you Sharon for a lovely card idea and tutorial!
